When an agent grounds an answer on a source, it pays that source. The payment is the citation — auditable, per use.

The research agent reasons over candidate sources, pays the toll to retrieve each one it cites, then synthesizes a grounded answer. Each citation maps to a real settlement, so attribution and payment are the same event.

Royalty splits

Single-author resources settle gas-free via Gateway. Multi-collaborator resources deploy a per-resource RoyaltySplitter contract: the citation pays the splitter, which fans the USDC out by share on-chain (a real Arcscan transaction). The last payee absorbs rounding dust so the split is exact.
